Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a different assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has called for "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying protection systems and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets targeted the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes come after periods of air raids in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
